The store, next to Morrisons supermarket in Old Warwick Road, has created 15 new jobs for the town.

To announce the launch on Wednesday, franchisees WY & SF Ltd donated £50,000 to the Costa Foundation - a registered charity which aims to help improve the lives of children in coffee growing communities by providing them with an opportunity of a safe, quality education.

Piers Blake, head of the Costa Foundation, explained that on average a household in Ethiopia earns approx £400 a year.

The £50,000 will help transform the lives of young boys and girls living in impoverished conditions.

Piers went on to say that the money WY & SF Ltd has donated will help build a library in a new school to give students a much needed quiet space to learn.

The building project is due to start towards the end of the year and customers at the drive thru can keep up-to-date with the build progress by checking for updates on the community notice board in the store.

Steve Falle, managing director of WY & SF Ltd said: “It has been brilliant to finally be able to open a cutting edge looking Costa store in the beautiful town of Leamington.

“Not only that, but to also open a drive thru store, has provided coffee lovers the convenience of drinking on the go should they lack the time to relax in store.

“By investing in Leamington we have also created 15 new jobs in the local area.

“We have already received lots of positive feedback and we look forward to being a part of the local community.”
