Could you be a Warwick Hospital disc jockey?

Radio Warneford, the hospital broadcasting service based at Warwick Hospital, will be hosting its biggest fundraising event of the year at the town’s market today (Sat).

The intra-ward station, which takes its name from the former Warneford Hospital in Leamington, is always on the look-out for more volunteers to join its broadcasting teams.

But in Market Place its current supporters will be offering the chance to win a range of prizes for the cost of just a 50p raffle ticket.

The ticket first out of the hat will win four first-class seats to use on any Virgin Trains service, with a second prize of a day out for four to Alton Towers.

Radio Warneford spokesman Andy Dowell says other winning tickets include the chance of a round of golf for four at the Leamington and County Club, Go-Karting, pantomime seats and visits to Hatton Country World.

The station, which is not part of the NHS, was started in 1973 and has a record library of some 30,000 tracks.
