Crash in Kenilworth leaves motorcyclist seriously injured

A MOTORCYCLIST was seriously injured after being involved in a crash in Kenilworth on Friday.

An ambulance, a paramedic officer and the Midlands Air Ambulance from Cosford were called to the scene in Meer End Road at around 10.35am to find the motorcyclist, a 27-year-old man, had suffered serious back, arms, wrist and pelvic injuries after being involved in a collision with a car. He was unconcious when the crews arrived.

The man received emergency treatment at the scene and was immobilised with a spinal board and neck collar.

His condition was stabilised and he was then airlifted to University Hospital in Coventry for further emergency treatment.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: “Fortunately, the man was wearing full leather motorcycle safety clothing and an appropriate safety helmet which undoubtedly helped minimise his injuries.”

The woman driving the car was checked over at the scene for the effects of shock but did not require hospital treatment.
