With the use of CCTV footage and other enquiries, four boys allegedly present during the incident were identified and arrested on suspicion of murder.

The boy allegedly responsibly for the stab wound was singled out within 72 hours of the initial report.

Of the four arrests, one (a 15-year-old boy) has been released without further action, and the other two (a 14-year-old boy and a 15-year-old boy) have been released on bail.

In addition to the previous four arrests, another 14-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of murder on June 11.

Detective Inspector Gareth Unett said: “The thoughts of Warwickshire Police continue to be with the family and friends of Tom, during this incredibly difficult time.”

“I’d like to thank the officers and police staff who have worked long hours to help get us to the point of charging a suspect. I would also like to thank the community for all their support, and continue to appeal for anyone with information to get in touch.”

“Court proceedings are now active, so I would also like to remind everyone that due to the defendant’s age they legally have anonymity, and that any attempt to breach this anonymity would compromise the trial. It’s important we now allow the criminal justice process to perform its role.”
