A 'considerable amount' of suspected Class A drugs were found after a teenage boy was stopped in Leamington last night (Wednesday).
The 17-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply class A drugs.
Officers from the Leamington Safer Neighbourhood Team took part in a plain clothes patrol, assisted by their colleagues in proactive CID, last night - and they stopped what they suspected was a drug deal in Murcott Road West.
A 17-year-old boy tried to run away but was caught and arrested. He remains in custody at this time.
Detective Constable Pitt from Leamington Proactive CID said: “Hopefully the community is reassured by how hard we are working to create an atmosphere that is hostile to criminal activity in Leamington.
“However, we can only do this good work if communities come forward with the information.
“Let us know if you think criminal activity is taking place in your area.”
