A cyclist has been taken to hospital with multiple broken bones after he was assaulted in Burton Green.

The incident took place on a disused railway line near to Cromwell Lane at around 10.30pm on Friday (26 June).

A man is his 40s was cycling along the path when he went past a man who was walking his dog.

The man challenged him and there was a verbal dispute before the victim was pushed off his bike and assaulted.

He suffered multiple broken bones and was taken to hospital where he remains at this time.

A 48-year-old man from Kenilworth has been arrested on suspicion of assault GBH. He is currently in police custody.

Police are appealing for any witnesses to come forward.
