Driver who failed to stop for police in Warwick arrested for suspected drug-driving

The driver only had a provisional driving licence and had no insurance

A driver who failed to stop for police in Warwick has been arrested for suspected drug-driving.

The Operational Patrol Unit for Warwickshire, known as OPU Warwickshire, posted on their Facebook page on Wednesday about the incident.

They said that the driver, who was both uninsured and without a full driving licence, also gave a positive roadside drugs test.

The post said: "This VW Golf made off from one of our marked vehicles in Warwick.

"We found the vehicle abandoned nearby and three males attempting to flee on foot.

"All three males were detained and stop searched.

"One of the males admitted being the driver of the VW Golf and having a provisional driving licence and no insurance.

"The driver provided a positive roadside drug test and was arrested.

"We also recovered a quantity of drugs from the vehicle."
