Jail for drug dealers caught in Rugby with 95 wraps of crack cocaine and heroin after 'advertising' services on cigarette papers

Rugby drug dealers Malik Alabi and Omar Kemoko have been jailed for more than two years each after they were caught ‘advertising’ their services on cigarette papers.

Plain clothed detectives were on patrol in the Benn area of Rugby acting on intelligence of drug dealing the area.

They were alerted by the town’s CCTV operators after they spotted a drug deal taking place.

The detectives went to a fast food restaurant in Evreux Way where they found Kemoko who matched the description of the drug dealer.

Kemoko was with Alabi, and both the men, from Coventry were searched by the officers who seized 95 wraps of crack cocaine and heroin.

The detectives also seized mobile phones containing evidence of drug dealing and cigarette papers containing a telephone number and letters indicating drugs for sale.Detective Constable Gary Hammond, of Rugby Police CID, said: “The pair were quite clearly advertising their services to local drug users and we caught them red handed“Our role as officers is to keep our communities safe and we work to take these types of people of our streets. Drugs destroy local communities and help to fund serious crime, which is why the public continue to help us by providing information about possible drug related criminal activity.“We continue to ask people with information or any concerns to contact us so we can continue to work to disrupt serious crime in Rugby.”
