Kenilworth residents urged to be vigilant after thieves target cars

Residents in Kenilworth are being urged to be vigilant after cars were targeted by thieves this week.

Kenilworth Safer Neighbourhood Team (SNT) are advising vehicle owners that they 'take all reasonable steps to keep their vehicles secure at all times' after two cars were stolen within minutes of one another in the town.

Both cars, which were Ford Fiestas, were stolen on Monday (June 1).

The first theft (incident number 458 of June 1) happened between 9.30pm and 9.55pm from a drive in Clinton Lane.

Officers said that a silver grey Volkswagen Polo was involved and being driven by a second person and that the stolen car made off towards the town centre.

The second car (incident number 460 of June 1) was also stolen between 9.30pm and 9.55pm from a drive in Fishponds Road.

Police said that one of the thieves was wearing a grey balaclava with a blue hoody jacket and was about 6ft 2" tall and well built.

A second thief was described as wearing a black balaclava with black hoody jacket was about 6ft and of slim build.

The stolen vehicle made off along Brookside Avenue.

Police are appealing for anyone with any information to get in touch by calling 101 and quoting the incident number.
