Two lambs have been attacked by dogs in Warwick.

The Warwickshire Rural Crime Team are again issuing a reminder to the public about dogs being on leads around livestock after two lambs were attacked on Sunday (October 4).

Officers said the incident happened near the racecourse and lead to one lamb being put down with the possibility of it also having to be done to the other.

On their Facebook post they said: "This newly weaned Lamb was attacked by someones PET!!!! in Warwick close to the racecourse on Sunday 4th October.

"These injuries have NOT been caused by a wild animal and the dog/s that inflicted the injuries would have been covered in blood, as such the owners would have know something had happened.

"Two Lambs were attacked during the incident with one Lamb being euthanised shortly after and it's likely the second one will as well.

"This is distressing to all parties involved and it's 100% avoidable.

"Please keep your dog on a lead in areas where livestock are grazing."

As well as issuing the reminder, officers are also looking for anyone with any information about the incident to get in touch.
