Man arrested following assault at McDonalds drive thru in Leamington

A 27-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of assault following an incident at the McDonald's branch in Queensway in the early hours of yesterday (Saturday March 14) morning.

The man remains in custody at this time, Warwickshire Police have said.

A man in his 30s suffered facial injuries in the incident.

Warwickhsire Police have thanked those who helped with the appeal for witnesses as part of the case.

They had released CCTV images of a man they wanted to speak to in connection with the incident, which took place inside the branch at about 4.50am.

Officers are continuing to appeal for witnesses to the incident.

Det Sgt Pete Sherwood: “We believe this to be an isolated incident but as part of our ongoing enquiries we’d like anyone who saw the incident or was in the area to come forward.

"Any information, no matter how small, could be significant to our investigation.”
