A man has been arrested in Leamington on suspicion of robbery.

The robbery happened last week where a woman was assaulted and had her phone taken.

A 51-year-old man was arrested during the early hours of this morning (Thursday)

A spokesperson from Warwickshire Police said: "Police were made aware of a report of a robbery that took place shortly before 8am on Heath Terrace in Leamington on Friday (May 1).

"A woman in her 20s was assaulted and suffered minor facial injuries. She also had her mobile phone taken.

"A 51-year old man from Leamington arrested on suspicion of robbery has been bailed until June 1.

"Enquiries are ongoing and anyone with information should call 101 quoting incident 47 of May 1."
