A man is due to court today (Wednesday) after he allegedly threatened a man with a hammer at Rugby Railway Station.

The 32-year-old man from Coventry was arrested yesterday (Tuesday) on suspicion of possession of an offensive weapon and common assault.

He was then charged with commons assault and possession of an offensive weapon in a public space. He was also charged with two counts of assaulting an emergency worker after it is alleged he assaulted two police officers while in custody.

The man will appear at Coventry Magistrates’ Court today.
