Warwickshire Police is appealing for witnesses or information following an assault in Leamington yesterday morning (Wednesday May 27).

Yesterday afternoon Warwickshire Police issued information that they had at the time and have now issued more details.

Officers said that at around 11.20am, a man in his twenties was assaulted on Sydenham Drive by two men.

It was reported they were holding a baseball bat.

It is believed the suspects then met with another man, and drove off in a blue vehicle.

The victim sustained injuries to his head and ribs, and was taken to hospital by ambulance where he is receiving treatment.

A road closure was in place whilst emergency services were in attendance.
