Police believe victim of fatal Leamington stabbing was 34-year-old man from Coventry

Police believe the victim of a fatal stabbing in Leamington was a 34-year-old man from Coventry.

In a statement issued this morning, May 30, police said that while they are still awaiting formal identification, the victim's next of kin has been informed.

The 27-year-old man arrested on suspicion of murder has been released with no further action to be taken, while the 34-year-old woman arrested remains in custody.

Police were called at 10.28pm on Thursday (May 28) to reports of a disturbance involving a number of people at the junction of Leam Terrace and Lower Leam Street.

When officers arrived they found a male with a stab wound to his chest and they started CPR.

Enquiries are continuing and officers are trying to locate the people involved in the disturbance.

They are appealing for anyone who was in the area around the time incident to get in touch.
