Police issue warning after dangerous drugs stolen

DANGEROUS drugs were among items stolen from a man sleeping in a Leamington park last night (Thursday October 6).

Police have advised anyone visiting Victoria Park or who finds the tablets not to take them.

Fifteen tablets of 30mg morphine sulphate tablets and a quantity of olanzipane tablets, contained with brown plastic medication bottles were stolen along with a rucksack containing clothes and other personal items.

Pc Jon Belcher, community beat manager for Leamington North, said “We would have serious concerns if these tablets got into the wrong hands and we advise members of the public to hand them in to the police immediately should they be found.

“The drugs are prescribed for anti-psychotic treatments and could be very dangerous if taken without a proper prescription.”

Anyone finding the tablets should hand them in at Leamington police station in Newbold Terrace.
