Police make arrests in attack involving hammer at Kineton park

Warwickshire Police have arrested two people in connection to the armed attack on a teenage boy at a park in Kineton.

Warwickshire Police have arrested two people in connection to the armed attack on a teenage boy at a park in Kineton.

Officers responded to a report of violent disorder involving a number of males at the park located off St Peter’s Road, Kineton.

A teenage boy suffered injuries to his head and body.

The incident occurred around 6.10pm on Tuesday June 30.

Police confirmed a hammer was believed to have been used in the assault.

The victim was treated in hospital, and later released.

Police have arrested an 18-year-old man from Bishop’s Itchington on suspicion of assault. He was later released under investigation.

Police also arrested a 16-year-old boy from Leamington on suspicion of assault, who also later released under investigation.

Police also interviewed a 14-year-old boy and a 16-year-old girl both from Southam in connection to the incident.

The assault remains under investigation by police.
