Police put on extra patrols in the Welsh Meadow area of Leamington after reports of drug taking

A police dog has been helping the patrols and one person has been detained and searched

Police have been putting on extra patrols in the Welsh Meadow area of Leamington after reports of drug taking.

Yesterday (Sunday October 25) officers from the Safer Neighbourhood Team detained and searched a person following reports of suspicious activity and possible drug use.

Officers carried out extra patrols with the help of one of their dogs.

The Safer Neighbourhood Team said: "As a team we will continue to patrol the area over the coming days and weeks to deter any further illicit activity."
