Police remind people Burton Dassett Hills Country Park is closed to all vehicles

Police with the Wellesbourne Police Safer Neighbourhood Team (SNT) said the following in a social media post: "This is a decision which has been made by the park rangers and the council and is enforced with barriers blocking off the car parks."

Visitors on foot or bicycles are still welcome to the park.

While on patrol over the weekend officers with the Wellesbourne SNT found 'a number of council owned barriers, signage and cones had been removed for the third time in a week, and dumped down an embankment in Northend.'

Wellesbourne SNT said: "The closures are in place for your own safety, and to help reduce the amount of time we have to spend speaking to people at the hills, potentially increasing the risk to ourselves."

Officers with the Kineton Ministry of Defense (MoD) Police assisted the Wellesbourne SNT in retrieving the barriers and signs from down the embankment.

Police have asked people not to remove the road closed barriers and signs.
