Police warning after spate of scam calls in Rugby - please share this with friends and family

Police are warning Rugbeians to be cautious after a spate of scam calls this afternoon, February 18.

Fraudsters are calling residents and claiming to be from the Metropolitan Police before advising them to pay money over.

A spokesperson for Warwickshire Police said: "HMRC, the police, your bank or other official organisations will never call you out of the blue and ask you to withdraw/transfer money, set up a new account or purchase gift cards.

"Please share this information with your friends, relatives and neighbours to help protect them from being a victim of scam."
