Police have issued tickets this morning (Monday) to drivers who have been blocking the pavements while dropping their children off a school.

Today is the first day back for the majority of youngsters after weeks of homeschooling - and police said they are very disappointed that some parents chose to park dangerously outside some schools.

They have been issuing tickets to some cars outside St Margaret's School in Whitnash.

A police spokesperson said: "First day back at school very disappointing to see some parents not parking sensibly and putting children's safety at risk by having to go on the roads."

They are asking parents to use The Plough and Harrow and Hod Carrier car parks for park and walk.
