Uninsured driver stopped near Hatton was wanted by UK Border Force for immigration offences

An uninsured driver stopped by police near Hatton turned out to be wanted by UK Border Force for immigration offences.

Officers working for Warwickshire Police's OPU Unit stopped a Toyota Yaris on the A4177 Birmingham Road and checks showed that the driver had no insurance and no driving licence. It then turned out that they were also wanted for immigration offences.

"We seized the vehicle and arrested the driver," said police.

"The driver was detained in custody and handed over to immigration officers."
