Woman arrested in connection to race-related harassment and man cautioned after reports of baseball bat attack in Kenilworth

A woman was arrested and a man was cautioned after police responded to a 999 call of a man attacking neighbours with a baseball bat in Kenilworth.

The incident happened on Monday morning (April 27) in Parkwood Court.

On the 'Policing South Warwickshire' Twitter page, officers tweeted that officers carrying Tasers were sent to a 999 call reporting that a man was 'attacking neighbours with a baseball bat'.

The Twitter page also initially said that two people had been arrested but Warwickshire Police has now said that a woman was arrested and a man was cautioned.

A spokesperson from Warwickshire Police said: "We were called shortly after 2.10am yesterday morning to Parkwood Court in Kenilworth.

"A 49-year-old man was cautioned with assault by beating and using threatening / abusive / insulting words / behaviour with intent to cause fear of / provoke unlawful violence.

"A 58-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of causing racially or religiously aggravated intentional harassment, alarm or distress and was released on police bail."
