Sylvie Ward is a Warwickshire representative at this year’s World Scout Jamboree in Japan, after having spent two years raising the £3,000 she needs to fund her trip. The event is currently taking place in Kirara-hama, Yamaguchi City, and is being attended by around 30,000 participants from 150 countries.

Angela Stoddard, part of the International Service Team, who started out as a Rainbow at St Mary Magdalene church in Cubbington and became a Brownie and Guide at the Lillington Free Church and a Ranger at the Cubbington Ranger Guides, is also at the Jamboree - acting as a safeguarding and security Japan planning team member - and will go on to take part in the Free Being Me Festival in Sangam, India.
