Cycling, climbing and canoeing for charity

A firm of commercial property consultants is taking on the gruelling Snowdonia Charity Challenge this summer to raise money for paralysed sports men and women and for Leamington care centre Castel Froma.

Simon Hain and Scott Blake, directors of ehB Commercial in Leamington, said the course will take about seven or eight hours to complete and will include cycling for 40 miles, climbing up Snowdon and canoeing across Llyn Gwynant.

“It will certainly be a challenge - not least because it starts at 7am! - but we’re putting in plenty of training,” said Simon, who is a trustee of Castel Froma, a residential care centre for people with brain injuries.

The event, on Saturday July 6, is to raise funds for Regain, the only charity dedicated solely to improving the lives of men and women who have become tetratplegic as a result of a sporting accident.

“Like so many people at Castel Froma, one minute they’re fit, active and healthy, the next they are in need of support for the rest of their lives,” said Simon.

The team also includes ehB Commercial client Alan Jones, a director of Coventry-based Cranfield Business Finance, who said: “I am pleased to participate as part of the ehB Commercial team, especially to raise funds for such a worthwhile cause.”
