Dawn canal boat blaze treated as suspected arson
An early morning boat fire on the Grand Union Canal is being treated as suspected arson by police.
Firefighters were called to the blaze on the craft moored at Old Fishery Lane, Hemel Hempstead, at around 5.45am on Wednesday morning.
No-one was on the boat at the time of the fire, and police saw nobody in or around the canal when they arrived.
The boat has been moored on the canal since December last year.
A full investigation will now take place
