Distraction burglar asked ‘can I have my ball back?’

In the burglary in south Leamington on Friday night, the thief told his victim that he lived nearly and needed to retrieve his football from her back garden.

But when he left she found he had ransacked the house, stealing a large quantity of jewellery.

The burglar is described as young, around 5ft 11ins tall, slim, with short black hair and wearing a blue jacket and black trousers.

Police would like to hear from anyone who saw anyone matching this description near Staunton Road or Grosvenor Road at around 9pm to 9.15pm.
