A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: “This was a difficult situation for the emergency services. The casualty had fallen down five steps on a second storey walkway.

“Although medics were able to treat the patient the only way to bring her down to ground level, other than a spiral staircase, was to utilise a hydraulic platform operated by the fire service.

“Prior to lifting her to the ground, ambulance crews immobilized the patient with a neck collar and placed her on a spinal board as a precaution.

“The patient was eventually moved to safety and taken to Warwick Hospital for further assessment and treatment.”
