Easing the flow from M40 to Gaydon

The first phase will see a new dual carriageway built to replace the B4100 and B4451 link from the Heritage Motor Centre at Gaydon to the M40 at Junction 12.

New signal-controlled junctions will be constructed to provide safe junctions with the existing roads and the new Heritage Motor Centre/Jaguar Land Rover access road.

It is the first in a number improvements in the area to will reduce congestion, improve safety and unlock a number of proposed major new development sites at Gaydon and the immediate area, said Warwickshire County Council.

Costing £10.1 million, phase one is funded equally between the county, the Department for Transport and money from 
the Regional Growth Fund via the Coventry and Warwickshire Local Enterprise Partnership.

Cllr Peter Butlin, county portfolio holder for transport and planning, said: “The project will provide vital safety improvements on the motorway and surrounding roads and that is essential as the situation needs to be addressed to keep road users safe.

“The work will enable more road users to travel with less delay and make the area a greater proposition of regional importance because of the economic benefits it will bring.”
