Electric fire underground in Warwick

FIRE crews used carbon dioxide dry powder to extinguish an underground fire in Warwick yesterday morning (Thursday).

A fire crew attended the scene in Dickens Road just before 9am in response to several calls alerting the fire service to smoke issuing from a manhole cover.

The fire was underground and involved electrical cable in an inspection pit.

The crew took around 90 minutes to extinguish the fire. Police and Electricity board were also at the scene.
