Ellie’s hair raising donation

MAKING a very personal donation to a children’s charity was a snip for a Brookhurst Primary School pupil.

Ellie Tait, 11, heard about Little Princesses, a charity which makes wigs made of real hair for children who have lost theirs through illness and decided to contribute some of her golden locks to the cause.

Her friend’s mother Szldonia Piros, a hair stylist from Hungary, did the cutting for free and shaped Ellie’s hair into a stylish bob.

To make the experience of losing 15 inches of her hair more fun the youngster and her family held a party while the hair cut took place.

Ellie’s father Nick said: “Her friends were a great support and Ellie managed to avoid shedding a tear, although her face was a picture when the style was revealed.”

Ellie has set up a Justgiving page to raise money for the charity.
