A woman who was critically injured after a pursuit involving a police vehicle and a car in south Warwickshire has sadly died.
The 62-year-old woman’s Ford Puma was in collision with a black Audi A3 car which had been pursued by officers from Warwickshire Police. As we reported at the time, the Audi driver died at the scene.
Now, the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC), who is investigating the case, has said: "We can confirm that a woman who was critically injured in a road traffic incident in Warwick Road, Stratford-upon-Avon on Monday 24 August has, sadly, died.
"Our thoughts are with the friends and families of both those who have died and both families have requested privacy at this difficult time.”

What happened before the crash?
At around 5.23pm on Monday (August 24) officers attempted to stop a vehicle on Birmingham Road, near Stratford.
The driver of the car – a black Audi – failed to stop and made off in the direction of the A46 before travelling back towards Stratford on the A439 Warwick Road.
Warwickshire Police said that at about 5.44pm, the car driver is understood to have been in collision with another vehicle – a white Ford Puma.
The road was shut from the Marraway roundabout to the junction with Ingon Lane and at Sand Barn Lane.
Superintendent Steve Flavell said: “Our thoughts are with the families of everyone involved in this collision and we’re providing specialist support to them at this extremely difficult time.
“We made a mandatory referral to the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) because a death had occurred following police contact. They have declared an independent investigation and we will co-operate fully with their investigation."
