“Our wish was to inspire all our children and encourage them to be aspirational for their future.

“Education is the greatest power tool that we have and it is the tool that has enabled all these women to succeed.”

She said every child has great potential.

Geraldine added: “It is our job to ensure every child can be who they wish to be, and we intend to do that in the most creative of ways.

“We aim to instil in every child the absolute need to be a responsible citizen, part of a global community.”

International Women’s Day took place on Wednesday, March 8, and this year’s theme was ‘Be Bold for Change’.

It’s a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women.

The day also marks a call to action for accelerating gender parity.

International Women’s Day has been observed since in the early 1900s – which was a time of great expansion and turbulence in the industrialised world.
