End of the road for parking services

The way parking is enforced in the Warwick district changed at the weekend.

As we have previously reported, Warwick District Council (in partnership with Warwickshire County Council) will no longer be in charge of on and off street parking. The service will now be enforced by NSL Services. As a result, parking services at WDC will cease to exist, with all parking matters being delivered through the new ranger service.

Cllr Dave Shilton, portfolio holder for neighbourhood services at WDC, said: “We have provided a very good service over the last seven years and I am disappointed that Warwick District Council is losing control of the on-street parking functions.

“But without this imposed changed we would not have discovered the opportunity to introduce the new ranger service, which I believe will benefit immensely our parks and open spaces and commences early next year.”

Information and services relating to on-street parking and payment of Penalty Charge Notices issued on-street, will be available at www.warwickshire.gov.uk/parking from tomorrow Saturday November 1.
