Photos: How our countryside is changing with the ongoing HS2 works around Leamington and Southam

Whether you support or oppose it, one fact remains true - the new high speed rail line (HS2) has certainly changed our landscape

Our photographer Mike Baker took these photos on Tuesday April 27 to show how the countryside looks near Long Itchington, the Fosse Way and Cubbington.

The site near Long Itchington is being prepared for the launch of a tunnel boring machine (TBM) that will dig under Long Itchington Wood, creating a one mile twin bore tunnel, before the route heads north and swings into Birmingham's Curzon Street Station.

Mike also took some photos on the edge of South Cubbington Wood where HS2 has felled trees - including the historic Cubbington Pear - to make way for the line.
