These photos capture another day of drama as protesters and HS2 staff clash near Leamington

There was another day of drama yesterday (Thursday September 10) at the proposed HS2 line near Leamington as protesters clashed again with workers at the site.

These dramatic photos by David Hastings show police turning up to control the scene - and some anti-HS2 protesters called officers after making allegations of assault on them by staff at the Rugby Road site near South Cubbington Wood.

Many protesters were moved by police. Two campaigners locked themselves together outside the gates to disrupt the work to knock down parts of the ancient wood to make way for the high speed rail line.
