We are pleased to bring you another 'blizzard report' - and this time it is/was actually snowing quite heavily

Never fear - we are back on the case

Last time one reader branded us 'childish' and another said we were wasting a news item - but many of you had faith in our snow investigation, so here is another one - and it definitely has nothing to do with the fact that it is a very slow news day.

Following our ground-breaking investigation into the slightly underwhelming blizzard in Rugby on December 29, the Advertiser is now glad to be able to report on some actual snow.

The news arrived on our (virtual) desk at around 3.40pm today - coincidentally the same time this reporter put a film on pause to make a cup of tea - necessitating standing at the kitchen window to put the kettle on.

The Advertiser, usually known for its authoritative weather reporting, has no idea when the snow started - but using the same scientific methods employed in our previous story, we're quite sure it was at some point in the last hour.

Unlike in our last snow report, the snow is coming down quite aggressively in the Hillmorton area (as of 3.50pm) and appears to be settling fast, so please take care if you are out.

Further robust investigation (comprising a glance at the Met Office website) reveals that snow is predicted to fall in Rugby sporadically until around 10pm, then turning into sleet.
