Family holidays inspire cycle

Memories of the place they used to visit for family holidays have inspired Leamington brothers to cycle more than 100 miles for charity.

Lynn Wildman, 58, is terminally ill with cancer and is currently receiving care and help from Macmillan Cancer Support.

In recognition for the charity’s efforts her sons Jamie, 32, and Harry, 22, are cycling 120 miles from Leamington to Weston-super-Mare over two days from October 12 with the aim of raising £1,000 for the cause.

Jamie, a novice in regard to endurance cycling, said: “Macmillan has helped my mum so much and really helped to set her mind at rest.

“They come round and help out any way they can and it s not just for the person but for their family as well.

Mrs Wildman chose the charity and her sons chose the destination because they remembered it fondly from past family holidays.

Jamie said: “We’ve both been training for it and we’re both quite excited.

“I should really bring back a few memories.

“Mum was very pleased when we told her.”

The brothers have set up a Facebook page with a link to their JustGiving site where donations can be made.
