Fenny Compton family supports air ambulance appeal

In December last year, Daisy Rughoobeer fell down the stairs and hit her head hard on the corner of a wooden radiator cover. She had a 10cm gash above her eye which went all the way down to the bone. The air ambulance were at the scene eight minutes after receiving the call and they flew Daisy to the University Hospital in Coventry where she received stitches.

She and her family are now supporting the services’s new campaign, in which for every £1 donated, an anonymous donor has pledged to donate £1.

Daisy’s dad Danny Rughoobeer said: “If you are in two minds about donating, I would say please do. When they arrived it was like a team of saviours descending.”

Jo Payne, senior fundraising manager at the service, said: “As each mission costs around £1,700, being able to raise double the money will help us to keep flying and saving lives.”
