Festive timetable change for refuse collections in Warwick district

HOUSEHOLD recycling and refuse collection days will be altered over the Christmas period.

There will be no collections on Christmas day or Boxing Day and those whose collections take place on a Monday or Tuesday will have their bins emptied a day earlier.

Those whose collections take place on Wednesdays, Thursdays or Fridays will have their bins collected a day later.

Cllr Dave Shilton (Con, Kenilworth Abbey) the Warwick District Councillor responsible for policy on neighbourhood services, said: “Even though the recycling and rubbish collection teams are having a well-earned break on Christmas Day and Boxing Day they will be working over weekends to make sure everyone still gets a service.”

Recycling roadshows took place in Leamington, Warwick and Kenilworth this week where people could find out more about the Christmas collection timetable and swap plastic bags for eco-friendly carriers.

Recycled wrapping paper was also for sale.
