Final total raised by charity abseil for Milan Patel over £17,000

The abseil, organised by Kenilworth Wardens Football Club coach Paul Calver, raised £17,333 for Teenage Cancer Trust, who helped look after Milan and his family while he had a rare form of bone cancer.
The actual amount could still rise since the total does not include Gift Aid, which enables charities to claim back taxes on donations made by British taxpayers.

The abseil saw 64 people shimmy down the side of Kenilworth’s Holiday Inn over the course of the day, including the Kenilworth and Southam MP Jeremy Wright and town councillor Richard Hales.
And despite some abseilers telling Paul they were feeling nervous, everyone who signed up to abseil made it down successfully.
Milan, who attended Kenilworth School and played football for Kenilworth Wardens Football Club, died last year at the age of 14.
