Firefighters from Southam and Leamington were called out to a barn fire.

The crews were called out at around 11.48am on Saturday (July 25) to reports of a barn fire at a farm in Bascote, near Long Itchington.

When the firefighters arrived they found around 20 tonnes of straw on fire inside the barn,

A spokesperson from Southam Fire Station said: "Firefighters used a hose reel and main jets to extinguish the fire.

"Thanks to the farmer and their machinery it made it easier to turn over and damp down.

"Firefighters remained on scene to ensure the fire was fully extinguished before returning to home station at 2.30pm."
