Firefighters tackle hay stack blaze overnight
ABOUT 25 firefighters spent last night (Thursday) tackling a hay stack fire off a slip road of the M40 in Warwickshire.
Crews were called to a fire, in which around 50 tonnes of hay was alight, in a field underneath the A46 flyover at 10pm.
The road had to be closed until the fire was extinguished.
A water bowser, hose reels and jets were in use and scene safety was implemented.
The cause of the fire is not yet known.
