Firefighters to go on strike from Friday
The strikes will start on Friday at 6pm and finish on Tuesday November 4 at 6pm.
Gary Phillips, Deputy Chief Fire Officer of Warwickshire said: “It is regrettable that the FBU has announced further strike dates regarding the on-going pension’s dispute with the Government, especially as the new dates are so close to Bonfire Night when demands on the Fire and Rescue Service can be higher.

“We will be taking 999 calls during the strike, but we may not be able to respond to all requests as we anticipate a reduced level of cover. We have a set of tried and tested plans and previous experience, but we are not complacent. Our focus will be to prioritise calls where a life may be at risk or if someone needs to be rescued; our response must be to those most in need of our assistance.”
Warwickshire County Councillor, portfolio holder for community safety, Les Caborn added: “We would ask people to make 999 calls wisely and only request the fire service if you really need them.
“We want the public to take extra care and have put safety information out and this can be viewed on our website www.warwickshire.gov.uk/fireandrescue ”
