Five released on bail following death of Warwick pensioner William Heathcote

Of the seven people arrested on suspicion of the manslaughter of Warwick pensioner William Heathcote on Thursday five have been released on bail and two have been released with no further action to be taken.

Of the group, A 23 year-old male, a 16 year-old female, an 18 year-old female, a 17 year-old male and a 17 year-old male have been released on police bail to return to Leamington Spa police station at a later date.

No further action will be taken against a 15 year-old female and a 15 year-old male who were released from police custody on Thursday night.

All are from either Leamington or Warwick.

Mr Heathcote, 75, collapsed on Pickard Street on Tuesday evening (18 November) and was taken to Warwick Hospital where he died.

He is believed to have been involved in a verbal altercation with members of the group.
