Flood preparation warning for Warwickshire

WARWICKSHIRE people are being warned to be prepared for heavy rain and keep up-to-date with forecasts.

Widespread rain across the Midlands is expected today (Friday) and into the weekend.

Graeme Smith, chairman of Warwickshire Prepared, said: “Flooding poses serious problems for residents but many of the worst case scenarios are avoidable by being prepared and planning for it.

“Our website gives invaluable tips on being ready for floods and I would encourage residents to have a look and take the steps it advises.”

People can register to receive free flood warnings by either telephone, text message, email and/or fax.

Where possible, warnings are issued two hours prior to flooding to give those that are registered time to act to protect themselves and their property.
