Flood warning issued for River Leam

Flood warnings have been issued for parts of the River Leam as heavy rain, high tides, and strong winds batter the UK.

Water levels are rising along the stretch of the river at Eathorpe, Hunningham and Offchurch, The Environment Agency has said.

Alerts have also been issued for low-lying areas between Grandborough and Leamington.

Overall the Environment Agency has has issued 21 severe flood warnings - which mean “danger to life” - affecting south-west England, Gloucestershire and Wales while the Met Office has warned of flooding in Scotland and Northern Ireland.

More than 400 lower-level flood alerts and warnings apply across England and Wales.
