For St George and for Asda

Colleagues at Asda in Sydenham had a double celebration on St George’s Day with a special party to celebrate the store’s long standing colleagues.

The group of 11 colleagues have worked at the store on Chesterton Drive for a combined total of 324 years with each one having worked for Asda for more than 27 years. The store’s community champion, Simon Milligan, held an afternoon tea party for the group to mark the occasion. Service manager, Sue Clifford, said: “From starting my career here at the age of 27, I can’t believe I’m now celebrating 32 years at the store. The celebrations were so much fun, the other colleagues and I had a great laugh reminiscing about the times we have spent together. “I’ve made so many friends here in both colleagues and customers and there is a real sense of loyalty. I still look forward to coming to work and feel like there really is no other job I’d rather be doing.”
