Four arrested and one charged following spate of burglaries

POLICE have arrested four Coventry men and charged one of them after a wave of break-ins in Southam, Rugby and north Warwickshire.

The 18-year-old has been charged with conspiring to commit burglary with intent to steal between March 6 and March 17.

Three other Coventry men aged 15, 16 and were also arrested by Warwickshire Police officers at an address in Coventry on Saturday 17 March on suspicion of burglary.

After being questioned, the three were released on conditional police bail pending further enquiries.

Police recovered an abandoned grey Volkswagen Golf in Coventry on Friday and are investigating whether it may have been used at break-ins in Welsh Road West and Old Road in Southam on Thursday March 15.

Police have linked the burglaries with others in Bulkington, Nuneaton, Rugby, Bedworth and Coventry.

Officers are continuing to appeal for witnesses to suspicious activity in the areas around the burgled homes.
