Free workshop for young filmmakers in Leamington as part of project involving Ridley Scott

A FREE filmmaking workshop for young people is taking place at Hybrid Arts in Spencer Yard on Thursday as part of a BBC project involving an acclaimed movie maker.

The project, Britain in a Day, is based on the film Life in a Day, produced by Ridley Scott and directed by Oscar winner Kevin Macdonald, made up of clips uploaded to YouTube by 80,000 people from around the world which sum up a typical day in their life.

Clips from the workshops will be used for a documentary which will be broadcast on BBC2 in May as part of the broadcaster’s Cultural Olympiad.

Scott’s production company is collaborating with Youtube and BBC Learning for the project.

The workshop will take place from 10am to 2pm and is open to anyone aged from 14 to 18.
